All about AMFI Registration Number (ARN)

MFDs with an AMFI Registration Number (ARN) are eligible to sell mutual funds. To become an ARN Holder, a distributor must qualify for the NISM Series V-A: MFDs Certification Examination.

A distributor should not hold more than one ARN card/Letter of Registration. The ARN has a validity period of 3 years. Renewal is required online if the validity period is over. The renewal depends on two factors:

ARN validity is about to expire
ARN validity has expired

How to Get ARN Number?

•3 Stamp Size Colour Photographs.
•Duly Filled and Signed KYD Individual Application and Photograph should be affixed in the KYD Application Sign across.
•Self-Attested Copy of Pan Proof, Address Proof, and Bank Proof (Cancelled Cheque Copy/Latest Bank A/c Statement).

Eligibility: Ensure that you have cleared the NISM Series V-A certification exam.

Steps for Online Registration:

1.Online Application: Visit the AMFI ARN registration online portal to start the application process.
2.Document Submission: Upload documents like NISM certificate, PAN card, and address proof.
3.Aadhaar Authentication: Verify using your Aadhaar number for identification via the eKYC process.
4.Payment of Fees: Pay the applicable registration fee for AMFI ARN registration online.
5.Confirmation: Your ARN will be emailed upon successful payment and verification.

How to Register for CPE/ ECPE Training?

Candidates can attend the CPE Program 6 months prior to the expiry of the said Certificate / ARN Card.	Any associated person, other than Principal, who has completed the age of 50 years as of May 31, 2010, may attend NISM Series V (a): MFDs CPE Program under the 'Grandfather by Age Category'.	Any associated person, other than Principal, having experience of 10 years or more as a distributor, agent or employed or engaged in the sale and/or distribution of Mutual Fund products, as of May 31, 2010, may attend NISM Series V (a): MFDs CPE Program under the 'Grandfather by Experience Category'.

Process of ARN Renewal Online

The ARN Number is valid for three years. To complete the AMFI ARN renewal online process, follow these steps based on the validity status:

If ARN validity is about to expire: Book a CPE/ECPE training session.

If ARN validity has expired: Book the AMFI exam registration for the NISM Certification Exam.

Requirements for AMFI ARN Renewal (for individuals, senior citizens, and employees):

Application for renewal of ARN/EUIN.
Copy of the passing certificate of the NISM MFDs Certification Examination or CPE Certificate
Two stamp-size colour photographs.

Process to Register for CPE/ ECPE Training

If your ARN number is about to expire and you want to renew it before the date ends, then you need to get register for the CPE/ ECPE Training. The process of registration is as follows.

Choose a dropdown that reflects 'Enroll for CPE/eCPE'.

Select modules (Mutual Funds) and categories such as normal renewal/ grandfathered by age or grandfathered by experience. In most cases, you will have to select normal renewal.

You can select a desired date and time slot and make payment online through the NISM portal.

You will receive login credentials for CPE via email and SMS a day prior to the training date.

Your login credentials will be valid till the time of completion of training.
